I do both Rob. I only stream at work though. I don't have my PC at home hooked up to any system that's near where I do my listening to.

And this is pretty much the only forum I ever go to to talk to people other than that other "social networking" site I don't want to admit I belong to but I do to keep in touch with family and old friends.

oh and one more thing - I know I couldn't handle those kindler gentler Dead sites. PUKE. AND as much as I think the later years get treated unfairly here it would be NUTS to say the later years were better imo

Hey John, just wanted to say once more how much you just absolutely made my morning today - Jack Casady and your great news - man, I'm happy again just thinking about it.

You know, if you keep up this gushing, "kinder and gentler" Forum biz, you're going to turn into High Flow, or worse...me. McGlone and I used to yearn for a Forum free of the "stuff" we've all gotten used to (which requires no further explanation), but I think it has improved greatly now that it is more or less accepted that so many do come here because of friendship...one of these days, we'll get CLIFF to admit it too.

Stream smeme; if only I could stream the Forum so I could be subjected to inane chit-chat all day (ie, if somehow voices could be selected for the text we all write; I'd love selecting "S Palin" for yours [geography alone!], and then "J Cleese" for Rob, and...well, you get the idea). Elmer Fudd for Dire? L Bird for Flow? And of course, C Z Jones for Miss D (she is Welsh afterall).

On the other hand, maybe it's not such a good idea.

That's exactly my practice, too. And though silent on the forum most of the time, I check it out multiple times a day just to catch a breath of fresh air after being submerged in the madness of work or public life.
